Welcome to Seymour Primary School PDF Print
Seymour Primary School has an enrolment of 246, prep to year 6 students who travel from the City of Seymour and surrounding rural districts. A large number of students travel by bus within Seymour. To assist in the co-ordination of bus travel, students finish school at 3.10 pm. Lunch is shortened to 40 minutes to allow for this modification. School buildings comprise a main block (light timber construction), relocatables (module 2), a brick art/craft facility, a multi-purpose hall/gymnasium and canteen......
  • Policy Development
A comprehensive set of more than 60 policies have been developed by the school, and are regularly reviewed and updated. Sexual Harassment, Racial Vilification, Privacy and Gender Equity policies are among those that have been developed according to DEET and community guidelines.

  • Future Plans
The school intends to further enhance grounds and facilities through a detailed planned maintenance and development program.

  • School priorities include:
  • Literacy and Numeracy
Our school is committed to providing an environment that recognises the needs of all students, and encourages access for all those wishing to be part of our school community. \

  • Vision
The school will encourage students to develop social skills, self esteem and confidence which will enhance learning and allow full potential to be achieved. Teachers and parents will work cooperatively, and encourage individual students to become positive contributors within the wider community.
  • The school aspires to its adopted motto:
“Quality Education through Vision, Vitality and Co-operation”
and aims to help all children to perform at or above current state wide benchmarks.

  • Facilities
The school grounds offer a range of surfaces and equipment to meet student needs for informal play, organised sport and physical education. Facilities exist for netball, basketball and cricket. A large multi-purpose room provides an excellent facility for sport and physical education, especially at times of inclement weather. It is also utilised as a community facility for activities outside school hours. Significant areas of all-weather shelters have been constructed, to allow for outdoor play and activities in both summer and winter.

  • Buildings are well maintained with maintenance being attended to promptly, and all classrooms have air-conditioning. Budgets are prepared for all program areas and funds allocated to maintain quality equipment for classrooms and specialist areas. The school has utilised over 70 IBM computers, and related equipment. These are located in classroom years Prep. to 6 and the library. The school community of staff, parents and students has an established record of support for the school in many ways, including working bees and fund-raising.
